Made for a TV production company, this Old Louisville mansion has a dark and storied past. Built in 1897, it was turned into a sanatorium in the 1920s – a sanatorium where the staff allegedly performed unethical experiments on the patients. In the 1960s, the home was owned by a woman who ran the stately home as a boarding house until she was brutally beaten to death by one of the tenants. After her death, the home briefly acted as an underground sex club in the 1970s, the vestiges of which are still evidenced by the holes in the ceiling of first floor rooms, where chains once hung for illicit pleasure.
